Coworking is a fairly recent concept that means "working together."

According to Statista, while there were approximately 19,345 coworking spaces around the world in 2021, this figure is expected to skyrocket to almost 42,000 in 2024 to accommodate the significant increase in people engaging in self-employment.
Coworking takes place in shared workspaces and brings together a vast network of different workers from a wide variety of backgrounds and legal statuses.
